PROJECT: ANTHOLOGY MAXIMUS

What is Anthology Maximus?
32 fictional poets created by me, with their poems compiled in an Anthology. Exhibit is accompanied by Manuscripts/ Hand Made Books (32), Framed Poems, Readings on Tape, Anthology Book, Website with Flash Poetry and (Optional) Portraits.

Elements
1 – Manuscripts / handmade books  (25 to 50 Pages each)
2  - Anthology Book (each Poet gets 10 to 15 pages)
3 – Framed poems
4 – Portraits of the poets (each poet will need a written bio w/portrait)

Logistics
Perhaps have actors portray the poets on a CD or in person? 32 Handmade books need to be made, one for each of the poets. The Anthology would need to be published at a cost of approximately $2000 in an edition of 300.

Status
Pre-Production; I've sorted out the identity of all the poets, and began work on some scattered bits of their "work".

THAT TOUCH OF MINK

1)
She walks in Mink, hot pink
hear chimes, bite stars
and all that’s best of human cotton.
True, the aspect of hazel eyes
marshmellow phase and chalky bubs,
sharp angel feathered cloud denial.

2)
Sheets your head, burn your bed
unwind, unhinge your crispy Bible
ripples on white glare pond patter
or powder puff pales o’er her high cheek
candy salt toffee expression need
freckles dipped in vanilla cone.

3)
Doris Day eyebrow sugar
fuzz and perpetrator page
black that smile wry the pastel tint
holidays of parrot and poodle
mink at peace with ground level plants
bleached heart sliced out and swaddled
fast in lame white painted clips.

LINES WRITTEN AFTER SWIMMING FROM HARLEM TO WALL STREET

If I can survive a swim in December
NBC will broadcast it and what
Park Avenue peacock will not remember my Hudson laps?

Waves scissor, polluted brine, salty cans and paper twine.
I’m the King of New York           ! Oil on water!
Unsinkable!

The Modern Degenerate picks May.

I did it, man. He lies. Do you think I’m lying??
Did it for a chick. For lust and glory. I did good.
Drowned chocolate, plagued by Cops!

He’s toast, I have pnemonia, towel face.

ELLEN

Ellen brushed back her hair
with her long brightly colored red nails. She hated the
way Daniel cut and styled her hair; he payed
more attention to her shapely two legs than he
did to his work. She always thought about
going to someone else, but, she enjoyed being
looked over by Daniel. Ellen took a cigarette
from her purse and put it in her mouth; she
held her hands around the tips so the wind wouldn’t
blow out the flame. She leaned against the brick
wall next to a run down laundromat. Her blond
hair blew softly in the wind.
