baggie tapestry # 4
1995: Fabric, plastic string, photographs and cellophane baggies, dimensions variable

STATUS: Recovered, Collection of the Artist.

COMMENTS:
Held aloft in hand like a slaughtered animal skin after the hunt, this piece is one of a series of tapestries that documents the lives of various women. Each of the baggies filled with orange or purple cellophane film contains an actual archival photograph of an event from this person's life.

Dangling from pink plastic strings, these images precariously hang lopsided, glazed with the defeated dust of the past and toxic plastic of the present. Old photographs and ziplock baggies: perfect together.
