Paul Tibian was once a secret agent for the Government, a suave and sophisticated world traveler, who hobnobbed with the rich and famous, and went through women faster than q-tips. He then happened upon a beautiful woman named Thisaly on a tropical island, who, through a comedy of errors, he wound up engaged to. When he stood up the woman at the altar and tried to leave the island, the woman's father, a notorious Witch Doctor, placed a curse on Tibian that caused his skin and muscles to completely disappear. Now women run screaming at the sight of him.

 

After serving a sailor for many years, Tibian joined Cobalt, Chicken Itza and Severin Hand on a trip, after which he was invited to join the Anachronists. He became best friends with Chicken Itza and the two had many adventures in a Time Bathysphere.
